My Running Journey - Where it started
When running I don’t feel the crazy every day stress, so I run and run, and run some more…
I always been rather an active person and enjoy quite a bit of stimulation to keep my thought together and head out of overthinking. Ever since a young age I used to go out for a run to mix up my days and I suppose this became my escape when life felt too big and too much to handle. Today, running is still my escape from reality and I have my biggest revelations whilst hitting the paths. Others say they move mountains at work, for me I go running to move them mountains at work.
Just like you, I am a corporate junkie, clock in for 8h at work where every brain cell is challenged left and right daily. For those 8h I move mountains and make the impossible possible, but trust me come the end of the day, I am happy to clock out and hit the trails. This is when I hit reset and let the days madness evaporate out from my mind and body.
In its simplest form you could say I have opted for running as my medicine to keep a work life balance. It’s a stress relief, a time out for my brain, and a nice workout for my body. Due to the therapeutic aspects running has given me, I never thought of challenging myself with it in terms of marathons. However, after discovering the Inverness half marathon, Iceland marathon, and some of the most amazing running gear by Hoka and ICANIWILL, I decided that I would put the gear and myself up for a challenge and decided to train for my very first half marathon.
I will be sharing my journey, the very highs and lows of training, the trails I find along the way, the gear, and the findings and progress. It will be a crazy ride that I am sure of but it will also be one that I hope can inspire you to find your calm, balance and your head space at peace. Who are we corporate rats kidding anyways? Let’s be honest, work these days is a jump down the rabbit hole regardless if it’s Monday or Friday. Corporate is unstructured and stressful, nobody knows what they are doing and yet life and business moves ahead. We might as well pick up the pieces where we can and make the best out of it and ensure that, by the end of the day, we go sleep with a happy, balanced, and peaceful mind.
My mission with my journey is to bring balance to the stressful corporate life I live, to ensure a healthy body, mind, and soul. To challenge my favourite running brands and gear to meet my needs for my training journey. However also, I want to share it all with you, my lovely fellow corporate running gang, the highs, low’s, inspiration and tips along the way. I vision that along the way we will be more and more on the same journey and the running trails won’t be lonely and the pep talks to reach and stick with it will be louder. Together we will find some of the most amazing runs and trails around Europe, have unreal marathon experiences, and find work life balance together.
With Love, Natty
